Do people have to be supporters to play this now? I've been unable to load any version of this game for a couple months now, but have no problem with any other submission on newgrounds.

No, but the game file is rather large around(100MB). It's possible it's just taking forever to load.
I left it sit, where it should be loaded or loading for 5 minutes, it never changed from the black background. Something changed a couple months ago, been able to run all versions just fine on the 6 year old computer I just replaced. This started while I was still using it, so it's not the new comp, not my anti-virus, I disabled it before trying. This is disappointing...I liked this game.
It could also be the internet browser you are using. Google chrome is fairly wonky here is some info on a fix.
